The purpose of the University of Helsinki Lahti Fund is to support innovative and practice-oriented research, adult education and development activities in the Lahti region and Päijät-Häme through grants, scholarships and financial contributions.

In 2020, the University of Helsinki Lahti Fund will distribute a maximum of 6 scholarships of 2000 euros and two (2) scholarships of 4000 euros for degree students, doctoral students or researchers. Scholarships are awarded for studies, theses and research that support the development of the Lahti region and Päijät-Häme. Special emphasis is placed on themes related to the European Green Capital 2021 project of the City of Lahti: carbon-neutral life, inclusion, circular economy, water and nature. The application period is January 14-February 6, 2020. All applications and recommendations are to be submitted through the online application system where the form will be visible as of January 1, 2020. Applicants are advised to include at least one recommendation in their application. The recommendations should indicate the connection between application and the purpose of the Fund. Recommendations can be submitted between January 14 and February 14, 3pm.

Scholarship applications and appendices are processed only in electronic form. The decisions and payment information will be communicated to the applicants when the decisions are finalized, but no later than April 4, 2020.
